Course Description:
Swim is in a 6 lane, 25 yd pool. Time trial start. Kids will start 10 seconds apart with their age group. We start 11-17 year olds first then 8-10 and end with 5-7 with approximately 30 minute time gaps in between each age group to provide the most safe race course possible. Swim start times will be posted on race morning but estimated group starts will be 11-17 at 8:30, 8-10 at 9, and 5-7 at 9:30. Please provide an estimated time for your child to complete their swim race distance, when we contact you requesting it. This allows us to place the swimmers in the best starting position.
Bike route will be separated from traffic, on streets and trails. This is 1 loop=1.5 miles (Older groups need to do multiple loops).
Run is on a paved trail - 1 loop =.5 miles.
Parking limited availability in the swim club parking lot. Additional along Keith Street. Please follow all signs such as No Parking due to Bike Lanes, etc. Prepare for restricted access during the race. NO PARKING ON THE RACE COURSE and please be courteous to the residents. |
|
Awards We will present all finishers with an award and enter their bib number into a raffle filled with goodies. Age Group, Team Challenge and Relay awards will be presented at the end of the race. Results will be posted on the website that week.
Training sessions: - All registered participants may attend a free training session to get them familiar with the race course, transitions and get any questions answered. We highly recommend these sessions to assure your racer they will be comfortable on race day. All sessions will be held on location at Hasentree Family Activity Center (meet in the swim club parking lot) and conducted by KIT staff. Bring everything you would on race day as we will ride and run the course.
Please reserve a space by emailing us at info@kidsintraining.com
Sunday, July 5 6pm
Thursday, July 9 6pm (early packet pickup available 30 min before and after the session)
Kids! - - If you want to have a fun race you must prepare for it so make sure you train well before the event. Whatever your distance is for the race, swim, bike or run that distance slowly until you can complete it without stopping. Then try combining a swim/bike, swim/run or a bike/run, which is called a "brick". When you can do the bricks comfortably, try the single or brick distance a bit faster, even if sometimes you have to take short jogs in between intervals. Try to get in 3-5 sessions per week and make sure you get your parents to try it as well! |
|
Refund Policy: All but $10 of your registration fee will be refunded until June 11 or until the race fills, whichever comes first. If the race fills, 50% of your entry will be refunded until June 11
**NO Refunds after June 11**
**Race registrations are non-transferable**
In the event of inclement weather, the race directors have the right to reschedule the start time and/or cancel the competition. Delays or cancellation will be posted on our phone line the morning of the event by 10am. Unfortunately, due to costs that will have already incurred, we will not be able to refund fees; however, will do our best to reschedule the event at a later date.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 372-7032 or email at info@kidsintraining.com
